The poor and the differently abled youth in our program need special attention and interventions. Providing these vulnerable youth with a Skill helps them on their way to economic independence.

Lalhminghlu of Cachar district, in Assam is the second among five children. He lost his father at a young age and had to care for his family. He had discontinued his education, lost hope of a future and was in total despair. It was at this point he joined the Vocational education and Training Centre to undergo non-formal Vocational Training in Bakery for a period of 4(four) months. This proved to be a turning point in his life. After his graduation, with Help A Child of India‘s  assistance of Rs7,000/- he started a bakery enterprise at his village at Dolakhal. Within a short span of time, his sincere efforts paid off and Lalminghlu’s products became popular not only among the residents of his own village, but the neighbouring villages as well. He is now a self assured, independent young man .Such vocational training, provides a source of livelihood to many young people across the country to help them become economically independent.

“I was just another school dropout from Dolakhal village before I came in contact with the Vocational training provided by HACI …but now my outlook and vision has changed; since I have skill in bakery, I am now able to earn a living. I am so grateful for this vocational education and training (VET) for making me what I am today.”-Lalhminghlu
